Perfect age to castrate my male cat?

my boy is 10months now..planning to bring him to his vet next month for castrating...is it quite late?

No. I would neuter him around now. Actually, neutering them to early can cause problems.

i didn't know that vets still castrated animals.  All the vets here (CT) dosomethingsimilar to a vasectomy.  Less trauma and heals faster.

Take it soon before it starts spraying in the house.

Most people castrate earlier than that, around 4 to 6 months, but it's not very late in the scheme of things.

10 YEARS might be quite late (but still doable) but 10 months is fine. vets like to do it before they become sexually mature (about 2-6 months depending on the doc) to prevent their growing testosterone from causing them to develop bad habits like spraying, but your boy will be fine. thanks for being a responsible pet owner!
