hey! So I've been a singer for about 11 years now and I'm going to college. I'm planning on majoring in criminal justice or theatre but I'm definately going to minor in vocal performance. I currently work at American eagle, the clothing store, but my voice coach suggested I work for a company that performs Disney songs at kids birthday parties. I would looove to do that but I'm looking for other ideas for a job involved with performance.... Other than community theatres please! 10 points best answer!!! =]

  1. My friends and I put on our own shows. It did bring in a little bit of money, but mostly it was for the love of theatre, not to mention it helps to put on a resume. We also performed around nursing homes and such, if not for love of singing, then to help keep our voices in practice.

Community theater would be your best option, because not only do you get to practice your voice, get a chance to experience auditioning, and build up your resume with the parts you've done, but you also get your name out there, because some community leaders will send you onto wherever they feel you'd do well.

My one friend applied to Disney and is now taken off a year of college to go be some of the characters.

Try getting gigs at nightly bars and things like that. Though you may not be able to do disney and musical songs, you'll get money for singing, and that never hurts.
