India’s budding cricketer, Rahul Sharma, says that having been added to the national squad for the upcoming One Day International (ODI) home series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 is like a dream come true and that his inclusion is a worthy reward for his fine performance
for the Pune http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Warriors-c861 during the last Indian Premier League (IPL) season.
“It is like dream come true for me. It is a reward of my hard work and good performances in IPL and also in domestic cricket over the years,” said Sharma.
However, Sharma also lamented on not getting an opportunity to play alongside India’s spin maestro, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Harbhajan-Singh-c61453, who has been dropped out of the squad for the team’s upcoming assignment; with Sharma taking over the leg-spinner’s spot.
Harbhajan’s exclusion from the team however, does not come as a surprise since the spinner, who is currently engaged in the Champions League Twenty20 competition, had been suffering from an abdominal strain since the last 4-match Test series against the
English hosts.
The spinner was omitted from the team during the second Test, following which ‘Bhajji’s’ injury had him ruled out from the remaining fixtures and then the final ODI leg of the tour, where the Men in Blue suffered a clean sweep by the Poms.
As for the young Sharma, the spinner revealed that he still idolises Harbhajan who has been a great support for the new comer. At the same time, Sharma also comprehended that he will not let his participation for the national team go in vain and will use
it as a stepping stone for a permanent slot on the team as well for their upcoming tour to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746, later this year.
“The Indian team leaves for Australia in near future and I want to consolidate my position with some good performances,” said Sharma.
Since Sharma’s first-class debut with the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Punjab-c833 side in 2006, the player has been exhibiting a spell of superb performances which come from his imposing spin talent that landed him a spot on the Pune Warriors following which Sharma stood out to be one of
