Basically i am living with my partner and 4 youngsters. I am self employed but not earning enough for it to count. We get child tax credit which is £160 a week and thats it. When i was on my own i was on income support and not entitled to to anything from my ex partner, for obvious reasons. Now that we're on child tax credit am i entitled?

  1. Sorry this question is unclear.

Your award of Tax credits will be assessed togther with your new partner as you are living together as husband and wife. An award will be based on your joint earnings.

If you are saying you never go paid maintence beacuse you were on Income support, then you can now pursue this and get paid it via the CSA, it wouldn;'t be affected by the child tax credits
