It's a shame really. How does anyone explain the performance of women's top seeds this year.

Ivanovic claimed her win of the french open was emotionally draining(i mean please- thats what champions do, they win one slam after the other-Serena won four in succesion).

**the terrible dress she wore in the 1st round should be burnt**

Jankovic couldn't stop whining about playing on court 18. And the injuries are gettting old too.Take a break 4 godsake.

Sharapova didn't give much of an excuse(good for her,i don think anyone would have bought the c**p).Too bad, i think that outfit deserved a few more days on the lawns of Wimbledon.

Kuznetsova, well i donno what she had to say about the crappy performance(though that Polish gal aint a pushover, still she shud have won).

Perhaps its time Wimbledon clowns start using the same tactic they use to place men's seeds.I mean its hard to imagine how this 'supposed' top ballers got to be top seeds after the embarrasing performance.

  1. I don't get what you want? Ivanovic won RG just few weeks ago and was runner up at AO, Jankovic was in semis at RG, Sharapova won AO this year too. I don't know what Kuznetsova have done this year. Anyway all 3 of them had best results on women side this year so it's logical that they are top seeded, even if you don't look at their rankings.. No one could know they will do this badly on Wimbledon, maybe they should hire a medium so they know who will do good and who won't.

  2. The only ones out of the top 10 to make Quarters were 5,6,7.

They should have seeded all previous winners higher. TT for example should have been a top 10 based on what she did 2 years ago winning doubles and making 3rd round of singles.

Yeah I agree they should change it up for next year.

  3. I disagree. Its a rarity in women's tennis when you see the top four seeds fall before the Quarterfinals. I am sure you will have to go wayyy back to find out the last time it happened in a Grandslam. Before Federer and Nadal started to dominate the men's game, it used to be you would be lucky if anyone from the top ten in the mens' game get to the Quarters.  That has been happening for decades and they never did anything about it.. now all of sudden it happened this one time in the women's game and suddenly we have to change the entire seeding process!!!

  4. It a stupid question. Seeding is made based on the rankings and I don't see any problem with that. It's a reward for someone who achieved good results untill that event. I think that  former champions should be pushed even harder in defending their title and to see do they really deserve it, right? Hehe, I see you're Williams fan... Just get it over with, it a rule and it won't be changed...

  5. i disagree wholeheartedly. this is really one rare situation as if you look at the rest of the results in the majors previously, the top 5 seeds have all progressed in the latter rounds rather respectfully and consistently. so in that, this logic makes no sense based primarily on this one event.

and the fact that you mention serena makes no sense to me either since she hasn't done that well in any major since australia last year. and she has not won b2b majors since 2002. she's defended her aussie titles but not a b2b win since then. she hasn't even won that many titles! so for you to emphasise her in such a way,is absurd since she's been much less consistent than any of those girls.

but really, this is just one freak situation that's happened this year. come us open,i'm sure the top 4 girls will regain their form again.
