Period Problem, Please Help ?

Ok, when I was thirteen I had my period. It was a heavy flow and lasted about 8 days. Two years have passed and i have had my period maybe twice. Each time the color was a dark burgundy and lasted about 1 day. I have no idea what's going on. I've gone to my gyn and she says it might be something called "Secondary Amenorreah," but she doesn't know yet what the cause is and so we can't treat it. Has anything like this ever happened to you? What can I do? Why am I so irregular? I feel like such a freak.

  1. not everyone is regular.

  2. Sometimes if you're stressed or lack proper nutrition it can effect your period. But don't feel like a freak! Even if there is something wrong, it is no reflection on you. All women have some sort of problem down there at some point in their lives. Try not to stress out about it, keep going to your gyn, and be happy!

  3. When I first started my periods I was very irregular, and it's something that happens to a lot of women - especially at first. I think I had maybe four or five periods in the first year after my first period.

I know its hard, and worrying to think about but the fact that you've been to the gyn, means that you're doing something about it and hopefully the gyn. will be able to tell you soon what it is that may be causing it.

  4. It takes a while for ur period to become regular. After I got my first period at 13 it didnt come back for a year, and when it did come back it was every couple of months. I'm 21 now, and it comes every month....i dont believe i was regular until maybe my sophomore year in high school..hope this helps u feel better!
