ive never tried a tampon.

im scared that it will hurt, or ill put it in wrong, or leave it in too long.

or something.

my mom suggested wearing a panty liner in my swimsuit,

and just swimming like that.

but i dont know what to do.

should i try a tampon?

should i just wear the liner?

my mom said that your period stops when you get in a pool.

  1. Your period does not stop in water, that is a myth that a lot of people think is true, it's not!!!  But I would just wear a tampon, read the directions on the package, and just try until you get it.  It shouldn't hurt, and I'm sure you'll do fine.  But, if worse comes to worse, then just wear a pantiliner.

  2. i think u should use both and dont worry tampons do not hurt at all and there easy to take out or [ut in and just mkaje sure to change it like evry 3 hrs

  3. I started on monday!! Try a tampon its really worth it, try the tamax website, they have instructions to insert them. xx

  4. I would try putting in a tampon before you go to the party. This way you will make sure there aren't any embarassing leaks. Just make sure to really relax and follow the instructions that come with them. The more you stress out about it, the less likely it is to go in. It doesn't matter if you go through the whole box just to get one in - practice makes perfect. The tampon shouldn't hurt if you have put it in far enough. There is no way it can get lost - there is no where for it to go!

You can safely leave a tampon in for up to 8 hours, so if your worried, just take it out as soon as you finish swimming - I doubt you will be in the pool for more than 8 hours.

    Remember - relax!

and have a great time at the party :)

  5. You sound panicky. CALM DOWN. :-)

No panty liner in the water. No. No. NO.

But tampons are a big yes! It just takes a few tries but you WILL GET IT. Relax, don't panic, it can't get "lost in you," so don't worry about that.

    Give tampons a try!

And no, your period does not stop in the pool.

  6. ok their are instructions on the box for tampons and if u still don't get ask your mom and in a similar position but i do gymnastics ( flips and that stuff) so i i would tell you to put in a tampon and your period doesn't stop wen you get in the pool and have fun!!!

  7. Hi, well the best solution, might be the tampons. Follow the instructions. But don't forget it! All girls can use tampons. Being a virgin or not doesn't have anything to do with it. have fun

  8. Your period does stop when you get in water.

But if I were you, I would buy some tampons.

I personally think applicators are difficult to use, but if you prefer them, then use them! Get playtex gentle glide, slender if your small. If you find that the applicator isnt working, all you have to do is take the tampon out of the applicator and insert it without an applicator. It may seem difficult at first, but trust me a mirror helps immensley!

[I was at a pool party yesterday on my period!]

    Good luck!

  9. Just wear a tampon . You probably won't put it in wronge, its not that hard. Just make sure to change it every so often, and don't forget about it ! I went swimming once when i was on my period and i didn't wear anything and I was just fine . I guess it really depends on how heavy your period is. Just to be on the safe side, I would use the tampon , or if not, the liner.

  10. I wouldn't suggest using a tampon if your a virgin, it'll will probably hurt and could make you bleed more you probably don't wanna hear it but if I was you I would tell my friend the truth. She would definitely understand your situation and then you could go to the parts of the party that don't involve swimming. Your period doesn't stop once you go swimming lol Have a nice time =)

  11. Well, it may slow down when you are in the water, but it won't stop completely.  Especially when you get out of the water.  The pantyliner will just fall off, because the adhesive won't stick....an even worse problem.  They DO make very thin, light tampons for young girls.  You really should try to 'bond' with your mom and ask her if she can buy them for you AND talk to you about how to insert.  It's really no big deal, and once you learn how, you'll wonder how you ever did without.  MAKE SURE you read the instructions that come with it.  They also have a diagram, most of the time.  If it hurts when it's in, then it's in wrong.  If you can barely feel it, then you did it right.  Also, just like an absorbent diaper, you will need to change it often (every 4 hours or so).  Remember to RELAX when you insert and breathe.  You'll be fine.

    Good luck.
