Period a week late, with a negative pregnancy test? could i still be pregnant?

Question

My period is a week late as of tomorrow. i took a First Response this morning, but it was negative. I thought if I am pregnant it would show positive by now. I don’t know what else could be going on. Has anyone else had this happen or know what could be going on with me? I would appreciate any info. Thank you in advance?

P.S I have never been this late or missed a period before.

I did spot last Saturday, but it was very little. and then I haven't had anything since. Sorry if this is too much info

Yes, I have had this happen to me!! My body chemistry doesn't allow the urine to produce the results for a positive reading.  I had already missed four periods & still had a negative one.  They had to do a blood test & when it came back positive WOW we were so excited!!

My advice is to wait another month. If you still don't have one then go  to the doctor or health clinic.

hi there listen i had spotting for about 3 hours so little i didnt wear anything took a PT neg! another 4 days later and still neg! took another a bit later and positive faintly but no mistaking a line! went to docs and 5-6 weeks lol... he said it all depends on hcg levels some people and everybody's body is different, leave it say upto a week and try again or visit your gp, who can maybe even perform  mini US to see if anything present ie- sac etc x*x good luck hun x*x

If your only a week late, depending on when you had s*x, you might have to wait another week. most test dont  pick up until abt 2 weeks after conception.

You might have just stressed yourself out on being possibly pregnant; causing a late period.

Hey courtney B they say u should use first morning urine if ur still waitin on ur period urs is a week late if u have another test try usin it mid mornin urine like say about 9ish that morning see how u go if u still get a negative go doctors they will do a blood test good luck.

There might be a chance you may be, wait a week then take another test if you havent come on by then. i took a test and it came back negative, a week later i took another one, and it was positive..hes now 15 months old :)

some people dont find out until roughly 6 weeks + and id assume youd be about 5 weeks if your a week late, give it a few days and retest. good luck.
