Question:

Period after stopping b/c?

I stopped taking my birth control mid-cycle during August. My period was due Saturday and it has not come yet. My husband and I are trying to conceive and we had intercourse during my ovulation days. I took a 5 day sooner pregnancy test this past Thursday and it was negative. Is my period just being irregular?

***With my first pregnancy, I was pg. as soon as I stopped my pills and got a positive with the 5 day sooner preg. test.

  1. I stopped taking my pills mid cycle a month ago... I was due for my period (with the pills) in two weeks, and mine came the next week and I bled for 8 days straight. It was horrible. And now we're TTC, and I ovulated this first month after my stopping BC period... So things are alright wth me. But I've read and heard that some people have a hard time with their period... depending on how long you were on the pill and all that... everyone's different. If it keeps it up see a doctor!

  2. if you stopped the pill in the middle of the pack, odds are you period is just irregular now. it might take a little while to get it back to normal. There is still a chance that you could be pregnant, but you will have to hold out and wait. Good luck to you.

  3. after you stop the pill.. it  does get irregular.. since you basically had schedule says with it.without it its gets messed up after being used to having it.. s

  4. It might take some time for your body to regulate. I went off in March didn't have a period until May, and didn't officially ovulate until July. Just give your body some time to get back to normal. Your hormones have to learn to regulate themselves again, even if it was easy to get pregnant the first time.

Once you do get your period, it may be beneficial for you to chart your temps so you can confirm ovulation. Good luck!

  5. it takes about 4 cycles for your period to come back normal but it may never happen. did you mean to say you got a positive pregnancy test?
