Ok I've been dating my boyfriend Matt for almost 2years we are finally moving in together on Sunday!

However Im moving into his place with him so we'll be sleeping in his bed!

I tend to get very heavy periods on the first and second nights i wear the heavyiest pad absorbency! During the day im fine so i just wear a tampon, anyways at my place i have blood stains on my mattress and i don't want to stain his mattress either! I've stayed at his place before but never while on my period! What can I do??

He's amazing and a very understanding and loving person but how can I tell him?

Thanks

Sara

  1. Oh! common dear if he is so friendly then just tell him straight away for the problem time being

don't worry u just stop exiting  him for a couple of days;-)

  2. Sounds like you have a great guy there, I'm sure he'd understand. Also, I know this goes against every period-law out there, but try wearing a tampon at night. I haven't worn pads since I was like 13 and never plan to again. I'll put a tampon in RIGHT before bed and remove it as soon as I wake up. If you're iffy about leaving it in for 8+ hours, (you're at a higher risk for contracting TSS), set some sort of alarm to wake you up early to change your tampon and go back to bed.

  3. he should understand it is natural for this to happen to women/girls just explain it when you get you're period just say i have got a heavy period or even if you don't feel that comfortable to say that yet wear a thick pad and a tampon that's what i do and theirs never a problem good luck with that

  4. Be cutesy about it and show him this page, act a little embarrased.

Show him that you've asked the internet.

As for not leaking, wear a pad and a tampon together. (You're really not supposed to sleep with a tampon since they're not supposed to be worn 8+ hours, but if you're not an idiot about it you won't get TSS.)

Put a towel in a garbage bag and sleep with that underneath you so you don't leak onto the mattress if you do have an accident.

  5. Get the diva cup, and if that doesn't work, use it in conjunction with a super absorbency night time pad. Barring everything else, tape a garbage bag to the back of a towel that you don't care about, and sleep on it - cheaper version of the "puppy training mat" or a bed protector from depends.

  6. hahah heavy periods doesnt mean your sick hun.

If your too embarresed to tell him and dont want an accident, becuase guys will get grossed out, Wear a depends. :/ Its silly, But idk what to tell you.

  7. The company that makes Depends undergarments also make things to put on a bed to protect it. If you're too embarrassed to buy them, you could also use those "puppy training" papers. They're the same thing, only smaller.

  8. Maybe you could wear a pair of shorts to bed on those nights. Or wear a tampon and a pad together. Or you could put folded towels underneath you. Have you thought about seeing a doctor to get birth control pills. They can make your periods lighter.

  9. You said that your bf is quite "amazing and a very understanding and loving". Well then you should have no worries in telling him. He will understand what you are telling him. He may seem confused as well but he will get over it. Just explain that you will try not to stain his mattress.

Also I have a heavy cycle as well and so I wear tampons to sleep. I thin they are more comfy, but if yu like pads then that is fine as well. What I do is set my cell phone to alarm at a certain time wake up and go change, so in that way no LEAKING. All you have  to do is set you cell phone on vibrate and place it under your pillow so that you do not bother your bf. (I live with my bf as well). yu could try this as it may help:)

  10. If you have been dating him two years, and have now decided to move in with him, this should be something you could explain very easily.  If he can not understand this simple fact of life, you need to find out what else he will not understand.  I think you might just be over thinking this, he might very well understand and not be bothered by this once a month, few days situation. My husband never gave it a second thought while dating or now.  We just try to book all of our vacations around my monthly because the airplane makes the already heavy first two days at home looks like child's play while flying and right after flying.

  11. nah dont feel embarrassed about it. im sure he'll understand. yes, try wearing tampons and pads together. or get up in the night once to get ur pad changed. or wearing two panties may help. the pad will move less.

  12. Wear a super sized tampon at night, and cotton panties with a pad just in case? Maybe? Eh, I don't know =[

Good luck! Oh and don't listen to that Lexi *****. Her and a ton of other people are writing that same answer for publicity on everyone else's questions trying to solicit their book. Don't listen to them okay.

  13. just explain to him how you did to us. if you've been going out for 2 years, something like this is not gonna cause any problems. try sleeping on some towels (lay two out underneath the fitted sheet) to prevent any leakage from reaching the mattress.

  14. I have leaked on my boyfriends bed before, I freaked out about it! He hadn't woken up yet when I realised, I spent an hour lying there freaking out about whatto do or say. During that time I fell back to sleep and dreamed that he was really mad about the blood ont he sheets. So when I woke up again I was really freaking out. Then when he finally woke up, I said to him I have something to tell you,a nd then I told him what happened. He just laughed and he said he was really relieved that was all it was because I made it sound so serious and he was like oh I thought you were going to break up with me! Lol, so really I freaked out over nothing. I then of course changed his sheets for him and washed the sheets. I've only leaked one other time since then and again it was fine. I'm just a bit more careful now. We now live together too, I have started using a higher absorbency pad at night since then too, which helps a lot!!! I'm sure your boyfriend will understand! Congratulations on moving in together, you guys will have a lot of new fun experiences living together.

  15. Despite what the spam says, a heavy period ISN'T a sign of an infection, it's just a heavy period.

Since you are moving in together, this will be the first of many periods at your new place. If he's amazing and loving, he will understand your problem. You may want to buy a new mattress pad that is impenetrable so that you won't stain the mattress.
