Period getting worse with age?

It seems now that I am getting older my periods keep getting worse and worse and by worse I mean:

-Really bad cramps.

-heavier bleeding.

I dont want to take birth control to make it better, I just want to know WHY! Its making me crazy.

You could be reaching menopause. So you should probably go to the doctor and they will be able to tell you for sure.
