  1. Oh that is too bad you can't talk to your Mom. Is it that she doesn't want to talk about it or you just don't feel comfortable taking about it?

A period comes once a month and it is always a good idea at the beginning and until you learn how your cycles work to have a calender to write down the day it begins and the day it ends so the next month you can usually count on it being around that time.

Have maxi pads, teen tampons, or panty liners around all the time. Also it is a good idea to carry one in your purse when it gets close to that time so you don't bleed thru your panties at school.

Some girls get some crampy feelings in their tummys, some get moody or grumpy, some can expect there moods to be all over the place, some girls just feel kinda yucky those first few days.

Having a heating pad, some Tylenol, ice packs helps too. Taking a long warm shower helps with feeling bad.

You will tend to be stinky down there so it is important to keep yourself extra clean. I love those personally wipes that come in a small pack that you can keep in your purse or personally vaginal spray that is purse size too.

    Know that everything is alright.

Don't get upset if you see some clots in the blood. As long as they aren't big as a quarter then you will be fine.

Just relax. This is all a part of becoming a woman.

I hope that you can get to where you can talk to your Mom. It is so nice to have that strong relationship.

  2. you have them once a month and you should really tell an adult that  way they can get you what you need. Don't be ashamed all girls have them even my grandma had one.

  3. You should get it once a month.

Why can't you talk to your mom?  She knows its going to happen to you eventually.  She can answer any questions you have and provide you with pads.

  4. You should be getting your period once a month, and it can last from a few days to a week. If you have just recently gotten yours, your cycle may fluctuate in terms of when you get it and how long it will last. Sometimes, you may experience abdominal pain [known as cramps]; to alleviate the pain, you can take medication like Advil, or Midol.

You'll need feminine products [such as pads or tampons] to help prevent leakage. Whichever type you choose is up to you; it should be whatever you are most comfortable with. In terms of how to use them, you should read the instructions before use, and can ask friends or a trusted female [maybe your doctor, older siblings/cousins/etc.] if you don't feel comfortable talking to your mom about it.

Another resource you can use is the internet; there are a lot of helpful sites geared towards young women.

    http://kidshealth.org/teen/sexual_health...

However, I think you should discuss this with your mom [especially since it concerns your health, and this isn't really something you can hide from her]. She's gone through it too, so she could be an immediate source of information for you to go to.

  5. Most people get their period once a month. As you've just started it's very likely your period will be irregular for a while after you first start, even up to around four years.

Have a look at this website, it's got loads of stuff about your period.

    http://beinggirl.com/en_US/home.jsp

I know it can be embarrassing, but your Mum will know a lot about stuff like this, and talking to her about it could be really helpful!

  6. well a normal period would be anywhere from 28 to 38 days and you should get cramps or bloating(feeling fat) about a week before. A hot shower helps with cramps sometimes depending on how bad they are if you can't talk to you mom about this then a school nurse would be best or a friends mom... they will help you with what you need!

  7. You get it EVERY MONTH.

It sucks, but you'll get used to it.

Go to walmart or target or wherever and buy some pads.

If you just got it, you should wear pads at first, try tampons later.

If you get it around the 25th each month, wear pads every day starting about the 21st through the time it stops for two days straight.

    Hope I helped!

  8. well congratulations!!!!!!!!! LOL ur a woman now! and it really is something that should be celebrated!!!!!!

ok so the first year or 2 of ur  period is usually irregular [[not always]] so that means that skips a month comes on very different days etc.

like when i first started my period- not too long ago- i got it on the 1st, then i got it on the 22nd of the next month, then i got like the 12th, so ya crazy

um but when it does get regular it will be ever 28 days

um if u get cramps- take midol or if u dont have any take ibuprofen or acetaminophen [[Advil or Tylenol]]

um about pads, i recommend always i love those pads ive tried alot of different brands- always is the best!

u should change your pad every couple of hours depending on how heavy/light your period is.

um having you period at school isnt too bad as long as your like prepared so keep pads and stuff in your locker!

and thats about it! if u have any other questions, you can email me =]]

    and again..CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

  9. You should get it once a month. Timing can vary based on the person...so it could be 28 days between or 29 or 30. Keep track of it for a few months and find out your own personal schedule. It will also vary in length depending on the person. I used to only have mine for 2 days until I had my son. But a lot of people around me had it for 5-7 days.

Tips: Bring tampons or pads with you in case of an emergency. Wear a panty liner a few days before your period to make sure you don't have any embarassing "surprises". Also, the compact tampons are great for small bags or just slipping in your pocket. Same thing with panty liners. Midol and chocolate help a lot if you have cramps.

  10. Okay so normally you should get it once a month. But since you are new, you might get it, and then it might disapear for a few months. THIS IS NORMAL. most girls freak out because they think they are pregnant if they miss their period. You really should tell your mom just in case. It wont be that bad. every single girl in the whole wide world gets a period. even your mom. So you really should tell her. Now pads. You depending on how much you bleed, you need to change your bad. usually your pad will last you about an hour or 2 hours. Tampons. You use tampons u stick them up and inside your v****a. They last much longer than pads, and are much cleaner. But i say you should wait until after you get your third period to try to use a tampon. That is why you should tell your mom. She can teach you how to use a tampon. Cramps. You usually get crams and you get bloated during your period. This is normal. But if your cramps get really bad, you can take some midol. you can also put a warm heating bad over your lower tummy to ease the pain. Over night..well get a red or dark colored towel and sleep on that at night so you dont bleed on to your bed sheets. You might want to get two towels to sleep on just in case you bleed alot. put a fresh pad on before you go to bed, and change it first thing in the morning. If you wear a tampon, you should wear a super tampon through the night. Put it in right before bed, and take it out first thing in the morning. If you have more questions, email me :]

  11. you should get your period every 28 days.

not everyone is the same though as far as flow and crampage and things.

you could bleed very heavily or you could have a light period.

a period should last anywhere from 5-7 days.

  12. once every 28-40 days

    beinggirl.com

    kotex.com

    always.com

    kidshealth.com/periods

you will bleed for 3-7 days sometimes very heavy sometimes not

change your paid every time you go to the toilet check it if it looks full or feels wet change it

always put on a fresh pad before bed

you should really talk to your mom she understands she deals with it every month dont be afraid to talk to her shes your best line of knowledge

get a calendar and mark on it in red when you start this will help you not have surprises and accidents and a day or two before your due put a pad on

  13. if you're just starting out i would suggest keeping a supply of sanitary towels in your room at all times (and maybe one in your bag too) because they are so irregular!

periods settle down after so long and will come regularly, usually once a month. the amount of days it lasts depends on the girl, but it is usually about 4 or 5 days.

and i would remember to take a paracetamol too, or you might have bad cramps (if you forget to take it and the cramps get bad just take one as soon as possible and relax in the bath and it'll go in no time)

  14. if you just started, it will be coming at random times. It will settle in few months.

yes you can. What, you gonna use toilet paper? Go tell her, she's not gonna bite... ¬.¬

  15. You'll get it once a month though at the start you might be a bit irregular. This is normal. Get a calendar so you can track your cycle: eventually you will notice a pattern in the dates. It will vary in heavy or lightness.  Get some pads from the store: tell your mom to take you to get supplies. If you are regularly doing sports then tell her to get you some tampons, they have special ones for athletic girls who've just begun their period. Heating pads help with cramps as do an asprin.

  16. im like you but i decided to suck it up and now we are really close we talk about everything and its no big deal

  17. Why can't you talk to your mom?

You'll get one approx. every 28 days.

It will last anywhere from 3-8 days.

    It will vary in heaviness.

    Good luck!!!

  18. once•a•month

  19. You get your period once a month. You need pads and tampons. You really do need to talk to your mom though. The same thing happens to her every month too. Its not something to be embarrassed about.
