Period issues. Please tell me if you've ever had this?

Alright, I hope I don't put TMI here, but I had two huge blood clots today and I don't know why.

They were probably... half the size of the palm of my hand, at the biggest.

I heard people get these on heavy periods, and this one has been really heavy so far... that kind of relieves me, but I'm still worried.

And the things I've read online aren't helping at all.

Is this normal?

  1. It is totally normal. Every period can be different. I never knew what to expect. I had huge clots off and on for years.

  2. Yeah its totally normal. I get them too, and liek you can feel them when they come. No worries you're just like everyone else (:

  3. yesss dats totttallllyyy normal i get em all da time jus dun worry its jus da lining on da inside comin out

  4. yes it is completely normal

  5. Could you possibly be preggo? If so, it could be a miscarriage.

  6. it depends how old you are. and you might just wanna pop into a walk in clinic and talk to them about it.

  7. don't worry, when I sometimes get heavy flows, I've had some blood clots. I don't know what the regular size is supposed to be, but I don't think you have to worry about it. :]

    it sounds pretty regular.

  8. Don't worry, they're not 'blood clots' per se.

A woman's period is the shedding of the lining of her uterus. What those 'blood clots' are, are parts of the lining. Nothing dangerous at all, or anything you should be worried about =)

  9. yes its normal.

u just have a normal period

    its fine

  10. haa its alright. the same thing it happening to me. does it look like a bled out fetus? lol. its normal...i hope....thats on my question too. lol

  11. If it is your regular period then everything if fine.  Remember that before your period starts, the walls of the uterus thicken in preparation for pregnancy.  When the body doesn't become pregnant the walls shed, causing bleeding.  So its natural to have clotting during your period.

So I just read that you have never had s*x but for the benefit of others who may have a similar question:

If you are not having your period and you could be pregnant (and remember any sexually active woman has a possibility of pregnancy regardless of what BC method she uses) you may have had a miscarriage, in which case you should see the doctor.  Many times women will miscarry without even knowing they were pregnant.

  12. It's normal.

I have a lot of friends who have heavy periods. I know this one girl (I won't consider her a friend though) but anyhow, she wears these HUGEEEEEEEEEEE pads. Well, they're dippers. But oh well. It's normal. I have a very light period thoughh :)
