Period late after micarriage... Is this normal?

was so overwhelmed with grief when i found out i miscarried on 07/09. My husband and I were devestated. I read online that your period can be irregular afterwards but most people get their period early and more heavily. I still haven't started yet and before my cycle was exactly 29 days so that would mean i would have started on 08/05 from when my previous period should have started or on 08/07 from the miscarriage date. So I know its only been a few days to a week from when i should have started. Do you think this is normal after a m/c? Or maybe im pregnant again? We haven't been using birth control... Thank you for your help if you respond : )

  1. yes it's normal for your cycle to be different over the next couple months, as your body adjusts to everything it's just gone through.  However, keep a close clock on it though, and if it is several weeks late, I'd advise seeing your Dr.

    Take care.

  2. II'm so sorry for your loss. I too went through a miscarriage on July 12 and was 7 weeks along. I've heard 4-6 or 6-8 weeks is normal. I've read different things and have been told different things.  I just started my first "period" after the miscarriage, since I am having cramps, low back pain, etc and it is 4 weeks since my miscarriage. It really depends on how far along you were when it comes to when your period will start. It's hard to not stress about it, but stress can also affect when your period will start as well. Good luck.

  3. I would consult a doctor on this.  If you haven't had a period since miscarriage and you are pregnant again there may be complications.

  4. it's normal forf your period to be irregular after a miscarriage or delivery

    i'm so sorry!!

    good luck

  5. did you go to the doctor? When I had one she told me when I should start, it's normal to not follow your normal cycle immediately, those hormones are still in you so depending on long far you were it might take two months to start, they can give you a pill to make you start if you don't, preggo again it's possible, usually need to be about two weeks for a test to show positive the further more posit you''ll get cause you have more hormones in your body

  6. I'm on my 6th cycle after m/c in March. Before m/c my cycles were 24 and 25 days now they are 27/29 days long and they're different every month. It has been a challenge to keep up with the cycles. I don't think you should worry yet. Your cycle will probably be changed from here on out and might be longer but could go back to being regular after a few cycles. Just keep track with charting.
