My husband and I have been ttc for a couple of years....anyway, I usually start to get cramps about a day or two before my period. Well, I am do now (ish) and I have period like cramps for a week. The pain has been intense at times but only last for a half and hour or so. Could it be implant pain? or impending menstration?

  1. I asked this same question (almost) a few minutes ago, someone advised I read about it on babymed.com)

I just read this on babymed.com

    Implantation Cramps on Implantation Day

Implantation is the attachement of the fertilized egg, the embryo to the uterine lining. Implantation usually happens about a week after fertilization and ovulation. You may be pregnant if you feel cramps about a week after ovulation. But cramps in and by themselves around the day of implantation don't always mean that you are pregnant. The fertilized egg is very tiny, and you are unlikely to even see it with your naked eye. Because it's so small and has little impact on the uterus, implantation is usually not associated with cramps. It's possible that your cramps were associated with implantation but the cramps are not a sufficient enough sign that you are pregnant, and you may have to wait for typical pregnancy symptoms or a positive pregnancy test to confirm the pregnancy.

  2. I'm normally the same before i get my period a few cramps a day or so before hand, but when i found out i was pregnant i was getting them a week before my expected period which i thought was strange so that's why i tested and got a positive, didn't really have any other signs apart from more discharge than i normally get
