  1. congarts

yes it is a normal age, i was 12 yrs 4 months

    playtex sport

  2. its perfectly normal for you to start your period at 13, its actually very common. I like to use Tampax Pearl, or Playtex sport.

  3. Congrats on your first time!!!! 13 is a perfectly normal age to get your period. I got mine around twelve. I have found that the one tampon that stays in place and doesn't move around a lot is the tampax sport! Hope this helps and good luck!

  4. Perfectly normal.

Any you feel comfy with... depends on your flow, and that is specified on the box!

  5. Yeah 13 is normal. I got mine when i was twelve. I quit competitive swimming this year (I did it for 8 years), I use playtex gentle glide or tampax pearl, but it all depends on what you feel comfortable using =)

  6. yes, it's pretty normal to get your period at 13.

FOr competetive siwmming, since it's your first period i would suggest trying on tampons before your first time wearing a tampon in the pool so you can get used to it.

i would suggest either: Playtex Sport or Tampax Pearl, or playtex gentel glide

Playtex Sport is used for sports and since your a swimmer that would be good.

TAmpax Pearl is really comfortable too. so it's good.

and always platex gentel glide it goes in really smoothly and it's also comfortable.

depends which one your comfortable with though.

  7. your fine i got mine at 11 and i wouldn't know as i cant be bothered using them

  8. ya its fine

    and platex sport!

  9. no, ur age is average, I got mine at 14 and thats considered a late bloomer.

as for the tampons I recommend tampax pearl(plastic) it doesnt leak alot, not as much as playtex sport

  10. Yeah anytime between 12-16 is normal so your just right!

Tampax is good I guess but I wouldn't really know as I am such a chicken **** I don't dare use tampons lol.

  11. You are definitely at a normal age to be starting your period. Most girls start between 11 and 16, although everyone is different.

If you can help it, don't wear tampons. If you have to get natural cotton ones, often sold at health and whole food stores. Most commercial tampons are made of bleached cotton and rayon fibers which can come off and stay in your vaginal canal and cultivate bacteria like the ones that cause toxic shock syndrome (TSS).

Try looking up menstrual cups. There are softcups called Insteads that are at most stores by the tampons. Other, reusable cups (divacup, mooncup, lunette) usually have to be bought online for about 20-40 dollars, but can last for up to 10 years. Most brands are made of medical grade silicone and have very little risk of TSS. Do the research, ask questions, and get your mom involved in the idea. They are much safer an less wasteful than pads and tampons. Good luck!

  12. Well, for my first time with tampons (I got mine two months ago), I used Tampax Lites. They worked okay, but I have quite a heavy flow, so I soaked through one tampon and a regular sized pad in 1-2 hours (I learned that yesterday, since yesterday was the first time i used a tampon with my period). So today I went to the store and bought Playtex Slender Light and Regular in the same box and I was going to buy the Tampax Pearl multi box but then I forgot my coupon at home so I didn't after all. But all in all, Tampax Pearl is the most comfy for me. Playtex is okay too, but the string is so long that I can feel it right now and i just put it in like 10 minutes ago. Never buy Tampax Pearl Compaq because the applicator is flimsy and cheap looking. Also, it is too big and you can feel it inside you (the regular kind). You could try Kotex, but it looked pretty thick on the outside packaging. The "normal" age for getting your period is between 9-16 I think. Go to this website (it's really helpful):

Hope I helped! I'm 12 by the way.

  13. Yeah 13 is pretty normal.  I like OB tampons.  They come in really little sizes which makes it really easy for first time users.  Any tampon will take a few times to get used to putting it in right though.  But they are WAY better than pads YUCK! Oh and OB NEVER leak!

  14. You will need to try out a few, to be honest.

Try and work out how heavy your flow is and use that as a guide to which tampons to buy. If you can't choose between two flow levels, go for the smaller one because it lowers your chances of TSS. Whenever you aren't swimming, try to use sanitary towels instead.

  15. yes, good age. lots get it earlier but your lucky :]

    playtex sport ; amazing

  16. very normal age. but u just started your period and even though u swim a lot its not a good idea to use a tampon right away

  17. you're totally normal.

as for sports, use tampons or "Insteads". you might be too young to learn  how to properly use an Instead (it took me awhile and i'm 30, lol), but there are internal methods of feminine protection that you can use and  not need pads.

    congrats! :)

  18. Yes, you're fine. As long as you don't get it before you turn 12 or after you turn 16, you're all right. I can't use tampons (my body has some weird reaction to them that makes me pass out), but I've heard that playtex sport tampons work really well for swimming and stuff. I also know that they don't hurt at all to put in. They're really compact and everything.Tampax Pearls are also comfortble.
