  1. Let me start off by saying that Las Vegas would not be my first choice.... by a long shot.

    But everyone is different!

I've heard it's a huge 24 hour party downtown but very spread out with trashy suburbs growing like mold over the desert landscape of 104 degrees for 8 months out of the year!

    Different drummers.

Here's a good site for detailed stats about various US cities:

To discuss regional differences with opinionated and argumentative americans click on the Blue "Visit Forum" Seal at the very top, center of the page!

Info on Visas and the like:

But you've probably already looked into that site if you're serious about moving though.

Okay, here's some stats of overall crime in Australia, which were pretty hard to find for some odd reason.

Here's an interesting link for crime in America.

pretty in depth and worth investigating.

I hope this helps... and if you feel up to it please answer some of *my* questions about *your* homelend!

    Thanks and

    Good luck!

  2. im an aussie who has been living in the states for 3 years

    dont do it

it blows here im moving home in a month and it cant come quick enough

and as for the"i dont care about the guns in America because in Australia people get shot all the time!"

trust me!!!!! people DONT!!! get shot in oz compared here.

    an other thing

you cant afford to go to a doctor in the states if you get sick

it costs about $250 to see a doc if you dont have insurance.

and if you do have insurance which will cost between $200-$300 per month

the insurance company will decide they dont want to pay when you end up in hospital and you end up with a $10000 bill

    move anywhere but the usa

this place is a soul draining h**l hole

  3. It's not as expensive as living in Europe.

Las Vegas is boring there's nothing to do but camble if you're old enough.

The greatest colleges aren't in Las Vegas.

If you're planning to move to America, don't live in Vegas unless you Gamble.

    It's fun to party though.

  4. Quite a few questions here.  Let's start with colleges.  UNLV (University of Nevada, Las Vegas) is an excellent school.  If you can get accepted you could apply for and get a student visa that allows you to stay while in school.  Expensive is a relative term.  Las Vegas is like any resort town.  Great to visit but not necessarily the best place to live.  However, there is employment opportunity if you need to work to support yourself while in school.

As far as permanently moving here, you have to apply for a resident alien green card or become an American Citizen.  Both require a lot of effort and time but can be done.

The gun reference makes me laugh.  Amazing the view of America other countries must get through the sensationalized news.  It isn't nearly as bad as all that.  Besides, if you become a citizen, Nevada is a right to carry state.  You can get a permit to carry your own gun so you can shoot back!

    LOL.
