  1. well, I'm african american so i get this done to my hair. you get it done once(it will cost a little more, like $50 the first time) and then every 6 to 8 weeks you get a touch up for your roots (about $40) before you get it don't wash ur hair for a week and don't scratch your head for two days or else you will get bald spots like the person said below. its great because it makes you hair softer (not dryer), and AL-OT easier to manage. you just have to moisturize to lock in moisture

  2. costs too much, doesn't last long enough.

  3. it last until it grows out.

usually people get it touched up when the roots come in.

it costs anywhere from 40 dollars+. go to a cosmetology school, they'll do a good job for a reasonable price.

  4. If you're talking about chemically straightening your hair... don't do it!

My cousin got it done and she got two bald spots. And when that hair grew out it was wavy whereas the rest of her hair was stick straight. Also, it dries out your hair and makes it really sun sensitive.
