Permeability Report For Effluent Disposal System???

if this is something you know anything about ,can you please e-mail me and I will send you back a copy of our report that we don't understand at all.....???????? Oh I am in Australia!

  1. In the US, this is usually called a "perc test" (short for percolation).  If you are building a house or building that needs to have a drain field installed to allow wastewater to infiltrate into the soil, you have to know the permeability of the soil or how readily water percolates into the soil.  Some soils (like those containing a lot of clay) are tight soils with low permeability.  With such soils, the results of the perc test tell you either how big you have to build your drain field or that you can't use a drain field for effluent disposal on that site.

    I've included some references to web sites that may help.  You also probably could find help with contractors who install drain fields or with the people who require that you submit your report and issue building permits.
