Question:

Permenant birth control... Essure??

has anyone heard good or bad things about Essure. Im thinking of going through this procedure after my fourth baby. Just wondering if its the route to go, it sounds better then tieing ur tubes. Is tieing ur tubes bad, it sounds scary....thanks in advance.

  1. well getting your tubes tied is NOT a permanent thing. My sister-in-law got her tubes tied after her 2nd baby and 3 years later she found out she was pregnant. So if you are really done with having babies then I would suggest you and you husband/boyfriend get fixed.

Well i hadn't heard of it until i started looking up stuff about tubes getting tied and so I was also considering it but there is only one Dr in the city i live in certified to do the procedure and she is full right now :-( so it looks like i will be going ahead with getting my tubes tied right after my baby is born.  Most of the woman in my family have their tubes tied when they are about 30 years old and they said it was painful at first to recover but after that they were fine but it did bring on early signs of menopause for them within 5 years after the procedure.  I would love to go with Essure though, i have heard it is just a lot less painful, no hospital needed and it is quick and has been 100% so far.
