Permit, General Contractor?

Question

Im opening a barber Shop in Pembroke Pines Florida. I went to get the Occupational License from the City and they told me that i have to get a General Contractor to do a drawing for me. Why would i need a General Contractor when all i need to do is add a Sink so people can wash their hair. Im not going to do any construction or anything else.

Can i do the drawing myself? Please help,

when you're adding a plumbing fixture, the city need to see that you have a plumbing vent.  It's just a simple plumbing diagram.  Since this will be a business, they will also want to see that you have enough mechanical ventilation and an electrical power diagram as well.  For ADA compliance, they will require a couple of notes in the drawings.  Believe it or not, this is required all in the interest to save your behind.
