Permit help!?

Ok, I turn 15 on July 8th. I am planning on getting my permit the 8th/9th. I have to take drivers ed the 10th. So I HAVE to pass my test in order to take drivers ed. Here are my questions.

1) Can you take the permit test the day you turn 15? (so if i fail i can go back the next day on the 9th and pass)

2) What are some things to remember for the test?

3) Is it hard? Some say it is and some say its not.

4) Are the questions the same at the same DMV every time? Or random?

5) Include other tips, sorry I am being so eager, but I really want to pass my first day and get it over with.

And yes, I have the handbook. I live in South Carolina.

  1. if your class includes a driving portion then yes you can get your permit, i had to wait 3 months before we did the driving portion then i went to get my permit.

1: yes you can and you can go back the next day if you fail. i did and i barely passed (there were 25 questions on my test and i missed 7 the first time and 5 the next day, the maxumum you can miss is 5)

2: memorize the signs because they give you a visual test too. they make you look into this thing and you have to tell them what the sign is for ( the signs have no words just pictures) also take the time to look at the way you turn your wheels on a hill when parking, and look at the trains section. they change the test all the time but youll probably be given the same test if you fail. i was given the same one.

3:it depends on when you go sometimes its easier when the questions all apply to the area youre in. not all my questions applied to where i live.

4:its random they change it every once in a while, but again if you fail the first time they will probably give you the same test the next day.

5:try not to worry i worried and i failed once, im glad it only took me two tries because my dmv is an hour away. study hard and try to pay attention in class, everything you need to know is in the book.

  2. Yes but my son took it at 16 so here are the answers you need! But now we live in Ga but it should be about the same.

    1) yes you can / yes

2)The only good advice for you is to study study study that book front to back leave nothing out

    3) It can be, he failed it 2 times, here you can miss 5 q/ an still pass he missed 6 the first time. 2 q / the second time.

4)stay calm /relax  do not try to rush through the test, take your time.Remember to take your Birth certif, A paper stating your attendance of school last year it will have to be updated from the past 3 month at least his had to be .One of your parents will have to show them their driving L id. Good Luck!!

  3. South Carolina allows you to apply for a beginner's permit when you turn 15 years old. The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) will issue you this permit after you pass a written knowledge test.

Study for the test using the South Carolina Driver's License Manual. Then practice for the test with DMV.ORG's online practice tests http://www.dmv.org/sc-south-carolina/pra...

When you're ready, visit your local DMV. Take along your proof of identity and citizenship, Social Security card, proof of residency in the state, and proof of auto insurance. Your parent or legal guardian must accompany you to sign the application form. The DMV will require you to pass a vision screening and the written (knowledge) test.

South Carolina charges $2 for the written test and $2.50 for the beginner's permit.
