Permit test. how should i study best?

i've taken a million and on e practice permit tests online. but they all kinda seem to have the same questions. when i took my first permit test last week, not very many of those questions were on the actual test. im taking the test again today and i want it to be my last test, i dont wana keep retaking it. what are some good strategies for me to study this stuff? i cant just read it over and over, that wont help. and anything BUT dmv.org/ca pleaseee. thanks :]

Just read through the state issued rules of the road book. As with the actual driving test, the permit test is mostly based on simple rules like right of way and common sense. Unfortunately, most drivers lack the latter gift.

Have someone else quiz you. Treat it like a test that you would take for school.
