  1. Fine, points on licence  and ban

  2. 'Trying to do you?' They will do you, and rightly so. You will soon know the outcome so don't waste your time and ours.

  3. Don't know what you mean by "saviour".  However, "Causing or permitting" the offence attracts the same penalties, 6- 8points plus a hefty fine.

ADD: In that case, as long as the police believe you that it was stolen, you won't be prosecuted. The driver will be prosecuted for the theft  (TWOC), as well as driving without insurance and anything else that comes to light.

  4. If you reported the car as stolen, then you were not guilty and will be cleared, this of course means that the person that was driving the car would have an additional charge of car theft, the choice is up to you, if you did know that this person was going to take your car, then you should have made sure that they were legally covered, of course if you knew that this person was going to drive your car uninsured then I hope that you are treated very harshly, I would not be pleased if I had an accident with an uninsured driver.

  5. you might have to 'do' the person who was driving your car for TWOC so that they dont 'do' you for driving it without insurance

  6. Agree with Des Replies, except I think he forgot to mention the fine! for perverting the course of justice (Not Guilty)

  7. Although your question is somewhat vague, I gather from that information given that you claim that someone else was driving your car and that it had been stolen.

The police clearly believe that you were the driver OR the driver is claiming that you allowed him/her to drive the vehicle.

It is fairly straight forward really,

    1.  Do you know the person who was driving the car at the time?

If you do, did you allow him/her to drive it?

If not you should have reported it stolen immediately.

    2.  If you claim the vehicle was stolen when did you report it stolen to the police?

    3.  If you did not report it stolen  - Why?

At the end of the day you have two choices:-

        a)  Continue to claim that the vehicle was stolen.

    or

       b)  Admit that you allowed the person to drive.

  8. That sucks.  they should have nailed the other person for stolen rather than you for permitted use.

  9. tooken?

  10. Serious offence dude, definitely a fine, points and possible six months ban.

  11. Were you aware that the person you lent you car to had no insurance?

If you were missled you may get away with it

How can they do you if car was taken without your knowledge its like if someone stole your car and crashed it would you be liable? NO i dont think so

  12. The worst they could do was to put you in jail.  You better pack a toothbrush.  Spell check
