Pernell Whitaker: Get your popcorn and get ready; it’s going to be a show – Boxing News
Zab Judah’s trainer and boxing legend, Pernell Whitaker, has claimed his fighter will outclass Amir Khan this weekend on July 23.
Whitaker is the former WBA World Light Middleweight champion, WBC World Welterweight champion, the IBF World Light Welterweight Champion, the WBC World Lightweight Champion, the WBA World Lightweight Champion, the IBF World Lightweight Champion and the NABF
Lightweight Champion.
The current WBA World Super lightweight champion, Amir Khan, will step in the ring against the IBF light welterweight champion, Zab Judah, in a scheduled 12-round unification bout for the WBA and IBF World titles this weekend on July 23, at the Mandalay
Bay Event Center in Las Vegas, Nevada and Whittaker believes Judah will dominate.
The 47-year-old trainer told the media his fighter has won world title five times during his career and he himself has won it six times whereas Khan, who is widely known as King Khan, has only clinched one world title as of yet.
Whitaker then claimed his fighter will shrug off the Bolton belter and will become a unified champion, as he thinks his fighter is far more experienced than the 24-year-old Brit. He also added there will a pure entertainment for the audience this weekend.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said “As you can see over to my left [in front of Judah] there are five world titles, I myself have won six world titles in my career, then I turn over to my right (in front of Khan) and I see one. Zab's done everything
I've asked him to do.”
“We're gonna make sure the young fellow [Khan] makes it back to England. Safe. Healthy? I don't know. Put your seat belt on, get your popcorn and get ready. It's going to be a show,” added Whitaker.
Amir Khan holds a fight record of 25 wins including 17 knockouts and only one defeat. However let’s see if Judah, who will enter the fight as an underdog, is really able to cope with the lighting fast speed of Bolton’s finest.
