Pernilla Lindberg ready for battle in India
Swedish Pernilla Lindberg, who displayed a good performance in some of the recent tournaments, is still seeking to win her first title, with the Hero Women’s Indian Open 2012 set to start
from November 30th to December 2nd, at New Delhi, India.
Lindberg is one of Sweden’s most talented golfers and has been making her mark on the Ladies European Tour (LET)Tour, but winning her maiden professional victory in the current season has
become her biggest aim.
The Swedish prodigy took part in the Sanya Ladies Open 2012 with heaps of confidence and displayed a superb performance to finish tied for the fourth position on the leaderboard.
It was a slow start but Lindberg held her nerve and tried to atone for errors in the third and final round. She posted a 69 in the third round to post an overall 213.
The World Ladies Championship 2012 also saw Lindberg unveil her best putting skills. She recorded an overall 208 in the three-round match to finish third on the leaderbord.
Her performance was good in the first round as she shot a 69, but other players made the most of favourable weather conditions and surged past her.
The LET titan is going to get two more chances to end her winless stint, as the Omega Dubai Ladies Master is also going to kick off in early December.
Observers say that despite making a promising start in the 2012 LET season, which saw Lindberg improve her putting and swing skills, the professional golfer wavered in some of the tournaments
as well.
Her performance was worse than average at the ISPS Handa Australian Open 2012, as she missed the cut. She missed another cut at the Ricoh Ladies Open De France 2012 as she posted a 74 and
76 in the first and second round.
But she has not lost hope at all, and thinks she can bounce back with a little effort. At the end of the last season, she had pledged to mend her ways.
“I feel like every time I've been playing with some of the top stars I've gotten better and better at handling it, and as good as I felt and as comfortable as I felt with Yani,” she had said
during the 2011 Omega Dubai Ladies Masters.
