Perpignan, Bayonne summoned by disciplinary committee - Top 14 update
Perpignan rugby and Bayonne rugby clubs have been called on by a French disciplinary commission. Both the teams were included in a fighting incident during a Top 14 clash.
Bayonne and Perpignan have been summoned by the end of this month where they will surely be charged for being guilty of portraying a wrong image of rugby in a mainstream match.
This incident just occurred a week after Auvergne Clermont and Toulon were alluded for coming to the point of breaking out in to punches and a series of blows. The previous incident was not exactly ignored, but not heavily charged, but this time LNR has
been compelled to take an action that will fix things for future of Top 14 rugby. Toulon and Clermont just got off the news and this incident took over, causing enough damage to repute of the game of dynamic and talented gentlemen.
Perpignan was dominating the game on Friday at Stade Aime Giral and encountered a foul tempered side, Bayonne. The stadium witnessed a number of punches flying from Bayonne’s Remy Martin, who was found to be in some jam packed action next to Perpignan’s
David Marty and Gregory le Corvec.
All the representatives of both the sides will be facing the disciplinary committee on Wednesday 23rd March. The accused players will have to face the music for doing the damage. The consequences can cause for bans as long as one year and might even result
in termination from the respective club.
The list of players that LNR will be summoning has yet to be announced, but for now we know three names that are surely being summoned. Remy Martin (Bayonne), David Marty and Gregory le Corvec (Perpignan) will be the ones getting maximum penalty among the
others involved.
