How did it happen? Someone told me that he was decapitated while riding a ride. But then someone else told me that he was in an area where he wasn't supposed to be when it happened. Which is true?

I'm going to six flags soon. And hearing that someone got killed on a ride there made me change my mind about wanting to ride rides. But if this kid was somewhere where he wasn't supposed to be then I have nothing to worry about right?

  1. The news reports says he was riding the ride and during it, he lost his hat. After the ride, the jumped over a fence into a restricted area and got decapitate by the ride. I think youll be fine as long as you follow the rules and stay away from restricted areas. He obviously didnt.

  2. dont be afraid it is probly just a romor of some sort

  3. He was with a church group from Columbia, SC. The boy and a friend climbed two 6 ft. fences to get underneath Batman:The Ride. Supposedly he tried to jump up and grab the riders' feet(he would not be so close to the coaster if he was only trying to get a hat) and the riders picked up their feet. The train hit the boy and flung him into a support post. Of course, he was decapitated when he hit the post. The ride has been closed since the accident.

  4. he was under the batman ride. he crossed to 6ft fences in un authorized areas.

  5. as long as you are not planing on trespassing on restricted areas by jumping two 6foot tall metal fences and ignoring multiple signs that say stuff like "danger" and "restricted area" and "employees only" you will be fine.

  6. nothing to worry about

the kid jumped the fence to a restricted area, and the ride swooshed down, and his head got knocked off.

    real story:

According to police and the amusement park, Ferguson and a friend climbed over two 6-foot fences -- a wrought-iron style park perimeter fence and a second chainlink fence around the Batman ride -- as a shortcut to get back into the park after lunch. Signs about 40 to 50 feet apart on the outer fence warn that it is a "restricted area" for "authorized personnel only."

According to park officials, a sign on a locked gate at the chain link fence also reads "Danger zone" and "Do not enter."

Ferguson was decapitated when the ride struck him, police said.

  7. yeah, r****d hopped the fence, and got hit by the ride, ending up being decapitated.

  8. this person who got decapitated was in an area he was not suppose to be. He jump over a 6 foot fence , where it had a sign that said restricted are stay out, right underneath the batman ride and so the boy jumped the fence and he got decapitated by the ride. so if yo plan on still going to six flag stay  away from areas that says restricted. and dont climb no fence.

  9. The news story said it happened because he was in a restricted area and I guess when the ride came around it made contact with his head. But that shouldn't discourage you. Everything pretty much has a risk. You are more likely to be in a car accident than die on a rollercoaster but I'm sure you still get in the car and ride.

  10. hey thats what happens when your a dumbass and ignore the signs... stupid idiots pay the price

  11. people always are dieing at six flags, usually its their own fault but still thats why i go to cedar point only. far better coasters and zero deaths

  12. The guy was stupid.  He went in a restricted area by climbing over two 6 foot fences.  Wouldn't you of hated to be in the front seat of that ride when it hit that guy.

  13. Yes, he had snuck into the restricted area while the ride was going on.  While he was under there, the ride hit him, sending his body toward a support beam, where his body was jolted from his head that hit the beam, and after the body fell, his head was cracked, sending a mist of blood to the riders in the back of the ride, while the rest of the people saw the whole thing happen.

It's very tragic and very unexpected, though you have nothing to worry about while riding this ride unless you sneak into the restricted area.

  14. This 17 year old man climbed two different fences that both had danger signs on them.  He went under the ride after hopping the fences.  He went under Batman the ride, just as it zoomed by, and it cut his head off.  It was originally thought that he and friends were trying to catch people's feet, but that was disprooven.  You have nothing to worry about.  Below is a link to the news report given on it.  watching it might make you feel better.
