  1. Go to a different solicitor, there are plenty no win no fee. You do not need insurance.

  2. Further to previous answers After the Event Insurance (ATE) is quite normal. You are entering a Conditional Fee Arrangement with your solicitor. He is required to give you details of rights and obligations you are undertaking in writing. This has probably been given to you already but you probably have LOADS of paperwork at the moment. This link will explain the process.

I am studying law at the moment and have just finished this module. Have a read and it should put your mind at rest.

  3. as the previous answer stated after the event (ATE) legal policies are quite normal these days. Yes you can find 'no win no fee' lawyers but when you read the small print most of those who advertise 'no fee' will ask you to either take out a policy (read the small print at the bottom of TV ads) or they will want a cut of any award. The idea that there are solictors out there who will work for nothing (why should they) is frankly ridiculous.

  4. Hiya bobert, this guy has no faith in your claim, and is only using your claim for his own needs.

there are plenty of no win no fee solicitors, who would happily advise you on  the merits of your claim, and more to the point it is frivolous or not.

Nobody does something for nothing, he knows he is onto easy money either way, at least with no win no fee, you know the guy will be giving your claim its best effort.
