Personal question for women...?

I posted this in the category for Women's Health, but no responses yet. I hoped to get some responses by posting this question in this catagory.

I had my period the end of last month. My cycles are very regular ever since I started at 12. I'm now 27 years old and only missed my period a few times and it was due to stress.

My husband and I have been sexually active every once in a while. I wish it was more, but it's his meds.

Anyways, about 10 days after my period had stopped, I started to cramp and felt like I was having my period. The next day I was spotting for a little bit then it stopped. This is very unusual for me.

I've had my tubes tied when I was 21 years old. I do have an appointment with my doctor on Monday anyways.

I'm just curious what others may think. Is this something to be concerned with or does this happen with other people on occasion?

  1. Its happened to me on occasion too.  Are you drinking enough water?

I am 33, I had my tubes tied after my second son was born.  I too am always "regular" but you know, our bodies are very unique, precious vessels, and as long as you are healthy in all other respects, you might just want to mention this to your doctor, if its really concerning.

  2. You may have been ovulating.  Some women get cramps and can spot when they ovulate.  I'd still consult the gyno though, just to be sure everything is ok with the tubal and you don't have any cysts or anything.  Also since you're not having relations regularly and you're cramping up I would recommend "taking care of business" by yourself either manually or using "BOB" (battery operated boyfriend!) between conjugal visits.  Getting that release really does help with cramping issues.

  3. I don't spot but i have several friends who do, good thing you're going to the dr. but I wouldn't let it worry me.  good luck!

  4. i do not have my tubes tied, but i too had very regular periods up until the age of 26.  i mean, i am talking, to the time of day every month.  but, for the past two years it has been insanely out of wack.  i think it may be normal for you, our bodies are all very different and it could be anything.  talk to your doctor, but i doubt it is anything huge.  good luck.

  5. Yes - and I have been through h**l...

It first started when I was in my late teens. After my daughter was born, I had my tubes tied. This created so many problems.

I've had cervical cancer and then later developed endometriosis...

When I was 29, I started having hot flashes, mood swings - you name it. My doc wrote me off as "crazy and stressed" and put me on a ton of antidepressants. They did not help and I realized that SHE was the quack because the drugs she put me on created Systematic Lupus....(sigh)

Now I am 34 and I am going through premature menopause....Yeah - lots of fun. It is devestating because I am a writer and my mind is so foggy at times and I slump into severe depression. BUT - I am on HRTs and I am beginning to look and feel alot better :)

Set an appointment with a reproductive endocrinologist. They are better than a regular physician and are so much more knowledgeable with these problems.

I wish you luck - and I feel your pain.

  6. I have had this happen to me and it could just mean your cycle is changing which happens in women. My sister never got it at the same time so if was hard for her to conceive. If you are under stress that is also normal. I would still advise for you to speak to your doctor. He or she would know best. Good luck! !

  7. Spotting is a normal thing usually.  Your body could be changing.  I am 25 and I used to be like clockwork on my period...every 3.5 weeks on the dot.  Then last month, it was 5 weeks.  And I used to never get PMS or cramps...now I do-like no freakin other.  Could just be a hormonal change.   Could be your body reacting differently to stress.  Could be a multitude of things.  Was your last period normal?  With the same flow and last the same amount of time as normal?

It was 10 days after your period stopped?  That could be around ovulation time as well.  (You ovulate at about day 14 with the first day being the first day of your period)  So it could be an issue regarding that.

Since you are worried about that, I would recommend either way to go the doctor.  So I am happy that you are already on the ball with that.  Even though this could be something simple, such as normal spotting, it could be also a sign of something else.
