Personality and ethics question-Please HELP!?

I am looking at the concept of personality being partly genetic, and wondering what the ethical issues involved with the idea of a genetic personality traits are????

i have NOOOO idea.

  1. You mean like the concept of not allowing certain people to reproduce because of a sever personality psychosis. Although this would be more of an ethical problem for others than the person born into a situation. Although many if not all personality disorders are not genetic.


  2. well, I can think of at least a couple of ethical concerns....what if a child's personality were "designed" based on the idea that they could have specific personality traits (like aggression for future soldiers) built in from birth?

    What if judgments were to be passed on people based on the idea that they could not "help" their specific personality traits? Would an extremely shy person be helped by being told by a someone that they were "programmed" for their behaviour? What if a doctor informs a parent that their young child is hard-wired for anxiety, or hyperactivity?
