I am working on a movie script that features a love interest between an anthropologist and an archaeologist. One had a childhood trauma that causes him to focus on the past. The other (a grad student) sees archeology as a way to use the past to help future generations. I am looking for ideas on specific character traits and career goals for these 2 characters to realistically have. For instance, the archaeologist could decide to teach high school because she sees that as the best opportunity to reach those at a formative age. Does anyone have specific ideas of (cinematic!) career goals for either character that would seem reasonable for 20-somethings in their field? (Could be some related occupation!) And can anyone articulate CAREER philosophies for this pair that reflect their mindsets? I'm trying to add some verisimilitude to the script. Thanks.

  2. . The 1st rule of writing: Write what you Know!

Ya, research  is ok, but only for an established writer.

Pick two occupations you know something about. Maybe a teacher and a mountain biker, whatever.
