Question:

Personalized running shoe?

I've just started running and the tennis shoes I currently own are giving me shin splints. I've heard of stores that allow you to run on treadmills and the workers examine you run and your feet in order to find the best shoes for you. I'm wondering if anyone knows the names of some of these stores. I'm aware of one name "Fleet Feet" but they don't have a store located closely enough to me, I live in Florida..

  1. yeah, you really dont want to run in tennnis shoes and that is probably why you are getting splints. Go to a store like you discribed. They are the best.  Here is a list i found online, just google your area with "running store" to find one if none of these are near you.

Just dont go to a sports store like d!cks, models or city sport

  2. I think that you should just go to any shoe store and talk to someone there about it. If you tell them that your old shoes (tell them you old shoe) gave you shin splints, then they can probably help. They might suggest a new shoe, or they might give you something to put in your shoe, just depends on you.

  3. Go to the link from the other answer.

Find a running specialty shop near you.

The specialty shop I go to doesn't have the nice toys as other stores but are rated top 50 in the nation. (Outranking the shops that have the treadmills)

  4. are you sure this is due to your shoes? - you may be a little out of shape and just need to take it slow for a while.
