Persuasive Essay Speech?

Question

im doing a persuasive speech and it has to be shorter than 1 min. 30 sec.

can you please look at my speech

and tell me how long it took you to read it

and if it goes major over time, can you tell me what information i should take out

aka...this persuasive essay should only be at a 6th grade level so itll probably be very bad :P

Home schooling is legal in most countries. In California, home schooling is often opposed by politicians. People such as the former Superintendent of Public Schools Delaine Eastin even suggested that it should be illegal. Some people like Jack O’ Connel, California Superintendent of Public Instruction, says that homeschooling should continue to be legal. I agree that parents should be able to teach their children at home.

Im a speed reader and it took me around a minute or so as well. Your skill level is more high school than sixth grade. My hat goes off to you, it will be a great speech and hopefully an A+ grade !  :)

Wow, I actually think that is very good! Im not sure what 6th grade is though, (I come from Australia), but I am assuming that it is grade 11.

It took me 1 minute to read it, but I'm a fast reader, and when you say your speech it often does take longer. I think that it is exactly 1:30.

Good speech.  Make sure you practice it out loud in front of an audience multiple times before your delivery.  And if you're nervous, eat a banana.  Good luck!

You can't effectively measure a speeches length by reading it. The only way to figure out how long it will take is by reading it out loud. Deliver it multiple times and try to read it like you would in front of an audience you are trying to persuade. Also I'd avoid asking question in the speech because they are not effect in persuasion.
