Perth, Australia...Please Help! Still undecided about where to stay in Perth, Australia...?

I swear, I am going cross-eyed looking at all the hotels available in Perth, and still have no idea where I want to stay. I guess my biggest concern is just being close to everything which is why I'm leaning towards staying in the Northbridge area. My friend and I are young guys, mid 20's, very outgoing and really want to...well honestly, party...lol. I mean, I don't want to waste my day taking taxicabs back and forth from my hotel to where I'm going. And then another taxicab from where I am back to the hotel. You know what I mean? I want to be kind of centralized and not have to worry about transportation that much. Of course I will visit the amazing sites that Perth has to offer, which looks gorgeous by the way, but I want my hotel to be within walking distance of many shopping areas, restuarants, and pubs/bars/nightclubs. Maybe I'm acting like Perth is some huge city and hard to get around but that was how it was when I visited Hong Kong last year.

  1. In Northbridge, Quest on James (which is on James St) and All Seasons  Northbridge on Robinson Ave.  Quest is closer to restaurants, pubs and clubs.  All Seasons is further down in Northbridge.

James St and William St is where you want to be closed to. In Northbridge, it's very convenient as there's blue cat (free bus) running from James St.  So, you'll be able to hop around easily around Perth for free when you need to shop.  http://www.transperth.wa.gov.au/Timetabl...

Also, in Northbridge you will be able to get on the train easily to go elsewhere ie: Fremantle, Cottesloe, Scarborough.

If you're concerned about your budget, there are many backpackers.  This is where you'll meet lots of young people from all over the world.

    Cheers

  2. Don't listen to them ^ haha Perth beats the eastern states anyday ;) ... I gotta admit we don't have a HUGE nightlife like Sydney, Goldcoast ect. but we make up for it in alot of other areas...

The only thing Northbridge has to offer is clubs and resturants but you will find alot of other places like Fremantle has the same aswell as the beach near by and markets, more of a music scene and alot more history to it.

Also depends how much you are wanting to spend on accomadation?

  3. My suggestion is not to stay in Northbridge but in the city, which is right next to Northbridge. My friends and I used to jump from club to club just walking, all you have to do is walk over a bridge and hey! your in Northbridge :) If you want to be within walking distance from EVERYTHING the I suggest maybe 'The Holiday Inn' its a high rating hotel and it is right in the middle!

Check these out...it should give you some ides :)
