Perth Scorchers’ players escape further punishment – Cricket News Roundup – Part 2 – October 31, 2012
The Western Australian Cricket Association has revealed that there will be no further sanctions placed on the members of the Perth Scorchers team following their improper conduct during the recently concluded Champions League T20.
However, the WACA authorities have ensured that an independent commission will fully examine the over structure of the state and give out recommendations in order to raise the standards.
The incident was first revealed by then Scorchers skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mitchell-c76390, both of whom were dropped from the team’s last game following a big night out to celebrate the latter’s birthday.
South African opening batsman, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MEK-Hussey-c1942, have voiced concerns over the idea of playing day/night Test matches.
Petersen, who contested in a match in the English domestic circuit, said that the pink ball tends to lose its shape and colour and does not last the 80-over duration. "We've used a Kookaburra and we've used a Tiflex as well, and both of them didn't really last long, so we're not sure."
Hussey, who has been involved in day/night contests in the early parts of his career, said that there remains a clear imbalance when playing under sunny skies as compared to night. "Having played quite a few day-night Shield games earlier in my career I did notice a big difference in batting in the daytime compared to batting at night time,” Hussey said.
Australian young pacer, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/James-Pattinson-c1653, has admired the batting strength of the South African lineup but is hopeful of putting on a good show when the teams meet in the first Test, which starts from November 9.
