Perth Scorchers v Melbourne Renegades – Big Bash League, 2012/13 – Match Update – Scorchers claim 51-run win with all-round display
A massive half-century from Shaun Marsh led the Perth Scorchers up to the highest total in the ongoing Big Bash League 2012/13 so far, and ultimately kept the team’s finals chances alive by propelling them to a 51-run win over the Melbourne Renegades, whose
unbeaten run in the tournament came to an end on December 28, at the WACA in Perth.
The Renegades kicked the match off by winning the toss and choosing to field first – however, they were unable to do justice to the decision, and only managed three dismissals in total, as the Scorchers breezed their way up to a massive 187.

with Nathan Coulter-Nile (0*) and wicketkeeper Tom Triffitt (2*) at the crease, the Scorchers set their visitors a daunting 188-run target to chase.

batsmen succeeded in reaching double figures.
