  1. Hi Im in Cuzco right now and although the nights get chilly the sun is very strong during the early morning and afternoon, so take some sun block, also its a good idea to take warm sweaters and jackets for the eveing and a rain jacket. Anyway, you will have a ball here, the Plaza de Armas is just brilliant, so much going on all the time, and the shops and markets are great. Also the bars and clubs are worth a visit too! Trust me, Im only here for two weeks and already I dont want to go home.

Enjoy yourself, but take the usual precautions after dark, take a taxi if going out.

  2. You will see quite a bit of rain in December in Cuzco (it's right in the middle of the rainy season) so I'd definitely pack a raincoat. The good news is that it's not as cold at night as at other times of year - you'll still want a jacket of some sort but probably a thinner jacket together with a thin raincoat should be fine.

In terms of things to do, the city itself is really interesting, with loads of colonial and Inca bulidings, and culturally it's very interesting too. As well as in Cusco itself, there are some great sights just outside the city such as Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley

  3. The 4 day trek to Machu Pichu is really cool. Weather is variable as you are high in the mountains. Best is to pack some tee-shirts, some sweaters, and rain gear also.

  4. Peru is an amazing place to visit, and the city in itself will provide a lot of things for you to do.  There are a number of Incan ruins sourrounding the city which are really fun and exiting to visit.  The town itself has plenty of ancient ruins inside it.  The sacred valley which is near Cuzco has a lot of originality, and is where the Inca trail is located.  If you have time, it is well worth the hike to Machu Pichu.  I've done it twice and had a blast both times.  If you are looking for some neat things to bring back, Peru offers an amazing assortment of Alpaca Wool merchandise, which is extremely soft, and very affordable.  I would also recommend the food there, it is excellent, and think you will have a great trip if you keep an open mind.  good luck!

  5. Machu Picchu. Do the Sun's tour. And eat lots of everything.... They got real good food over there.

  6. hi peru is so cool!!  u should pack warm and summer clothes beacau usually the mornings are chilly but sunny(wierd i know) and during the day it gets warmer..
