The two centre midfielders were Mier Alanis and Enriquez. Enriquez stayed behind in the midfield while Mier Alanis often made a run forward to help the team in the attack.

The Peru midfielder took a shot from 35 yards out and almost found the target. His shot was only inches wide
off the target but he simply couldn’t find the target.

The next chance of the match was created by the Mexicans. It was the only chance the Mexicans created in the first half and it came during the 29th minute. The Peru goal stopper Libman couldn’t really bring the ball down and fumbled it as it found
Javier Aquino inside the penalty area. The Mexican star struck his shot on goal but Santiago Acasiete came in front and blocked the shot to save the day for Peru.
The first half ended in a goalless draw. Peru were dominant but the best chance fell for the Mexicans after the Peru goal stopper fumbled the ball in the penalty area.
