One of the greatest hopes of South American football, Edison Flores says that he would love to play in the French Ligue 1 one day. The youngster was named the best player in the last Under-20 Copa Libertadores
Often derided for its lack of attractiveness, people have always wondered if the French Ligue 1 would ever be able to consistently attract young stars from South America. The likes of Ronaldinho, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Guillermo-Ochoa-c15350, all started their European
journey from France but examples are really few.
However, it now appears that there is one talent who has a soft corner for Ligue 1. 17-year-old Peruvian starlet, Edison Flores, has admitted that he dreams of one day playing at a Ligue 1 club.
The likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lucas-c22528 and Leandro Damiao have already said no to the prospect of playing in Ligue 1.
Despite this, Flores says that he wants to play in Ligue 1. The youngster is currently playing for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Universitario-de-Deportes-c40829 where he has only recently made his senior team debut (July 2011). At such a tender age, the winger has already played 14 league
games and three games in Copa Sudamericana.
The youngster is a versatile midfielder and can play equally well on both flanks and can play just behind the striker.
As a fine dribbler, the youngster showed his value in the last Under-20 Copa Libertadores for Deportes. In that tournament, Edison was named the player of the tournament and was the main reason why Los Merengues won the tournament.
Still a relatively unknown quantity in Europe, the youngster is one of the most coveted players in South http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/America-c38390.
The likes of Real Madrid, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 have already fallen under the charms of the teenage sensation.
However, despite being under the radar of such prestigious clubs, Flores has eyes only for the French Ligue 1. While talking to journalists, Flores said that he wants to follow the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Eden-Hazard-c11863, who has
become such a hot commodity in Europe.
“My dream is to play in Europe. I’ll be 18, I would be ready to complete my training in a European academy. France is a major country in terms of football. Drogba, Benzema and more recently, Hazard, all these players have been trained in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899. I call them
models and examples to follow. In South America, French football is followed. Clubs like Lyon and PSG have had big South American players.”
Reports already claim that two Ligue 1 clubs are already keeping tabs on Flores which means that the arrival of this young and extremely talented player to France may just be around the corner.
