If you have some tough stains on clothing (i.e. grass), will peroxide take them out? Also, will is bleach your clothing? I don't want to ruin my pants further by discoloring them!

Please let me know! Thanks

  1. Use Shout or Spray n Wash. Then scrub it in with a sponge.  It's safe for your clothes and it actually works  :)

  2. No peroxide won't help, try some oxy clean or depending on the fabric or stain try some bleach or paint thinner. Hope that helps!

  3. Peroxide is good for some stains.  It works well for stains that respond to oxygen.   Blood is a good example -- it works very well for that.

I have an upholstery cleaner that is industrial strength hydrogen peroxide (plus a catalyst, plus often a bit of heat to accelerate the reaction).  It is good for many organic stains, but can be too strong for natural fibers.  Organic stains include coffee, wine, urine, blood, vomit, fruit juices, etc.  So while I don't see grass stains on upholstery, I'd consider using it.

As I understand it, Oxy-Clean, and similar sodium percarbonate cleaners, combine with water and generate hydrogen peroxide.  Different route, same destination.
