Peshawar, Multan, Lahore win matches in 3rd PHF Junior Super Hockey League
The hockey teams of Peshawar, Multan and Lahore emerged victorious in their particular competitions in the 5th day of the 3rd PHF Junior Super Hockey League which is being played at the National Hockey Stadium Lahore. In the meantime,
the game between Faisalabad and Sialkot ended in a draw by 1-1.
Multan in the opening game of the day edged past Karachi by a single point, 4-3 and improved their position in the league. The two sides started the game quite impressive, but it was the team of Karachi that drew the first blood in the 12th minute
of the game. Ahmed Zubair scored the first goal of the day for Karachi and put the team ahead on the scoreboard.
The defensemen from the two sides displayed impressive game in the remaining time period and both sides could not add any score in the tally. The players from Multan came alive in the second half of play and established their dominance in the game. Muhammad
Faisal scored a couple of goals in the 42nd and 45th minutes to take the lead in the game. In the later time, Khurram Shahzad scored another goal to expand the lead up to two goals, 3-1.
Ahmed Zubair of Karachi scored another couple of goals in the 64th and 66th minutes to bring back his team into the game. However, Adnan notched another goal to seal the Multan victory at 4-3.
In the second match of the day, Lahore overwhelmed PHF Academy by one goal, 2-1. Hafiz Sardar and Arsalan Sherazi scored one goal each in the 32nd and 34th minutes of the game. From the other side, Muhammad Naveed nailed a solitary
goal in the 9th minute of the game. With final horn of the time completion, Lahore won the game.
Peshawar thrashed Quetta by 4-2 in the third game of the day. Zahid Khan was at his best and scored a couple of goals respectively, in the 13th and 19th minutes of the game. Samiullah Sadiq, another legendary player, added three goals
in the tally and made Peshawar's victory possible in the game. Anis-ur-Rehman scored a solitary point in the 54th minute to play his role in the win.
From the other side, Muhammad Jamal and Ashraf Ali added one goal each in 23rd and 68th minutes of the play, but lost the game.
The last contest between Faisalabad and Sialkot ended with a one-all draw. Muhammad Suleman chipped in a score in the 12th minute, while Ali Hasan Faraz levelled the game in the 39th minute of the play. Owing to an end-to-end play,
the match concluded without any conclusion.
In the upcoming games, Sialkot will face Peshawar; Faisalabad to meet Quetta, Lahore to play against Multan, while PHF Academy will play against Karachi on Monday, May 02, 2011.
