Question:

Pet Duck help?

I am about to puchase two pet ducks but have a question:

How long can ducks be left on their own (in pairs)?

Will i be able to leave them along long enough, for example to go food shopping, or will i need to find someone to look after them?

N.B. I have looked up their dietary requirements, they do have a place outside to swim, they have shelter and protection from foxes, i know about the pooing every 30 minutes thing, i have found an avian vet, and they will have protection from next doors cat.

  1. Your ducks will be just fine alone for a while.  Was your concern that they would mate while unsupervised? if so they probably will and that is OK ... but if you do not want more ducks just take the eggs away and don't let them sit on them.

They will busy themselves exploring their environment having fun swimming and being ducks.

Their pool water needs to be changed daily because they like to swim and poo in it.

  2. why Go shopping when u have 2 tasty ducks, get them stuck in the oven, and get some tasty sauce over them...!
