Pet Hedgehog Help?

Question

I have a pet hedgehog that I just recently got, I got it quite unexpectedly so I had no time to buy a proper cage or anything. What I was wondering if anyone could reccomend some cages for me. I have looked and all of them seem really small. I am really confused with what to get him! Thank you so much in advanced!

if i was you id get a medium sized vivarium tank size.

no offense but u shouldnt have gotten an animal if u dont no how to take care of it..

go to petstore and ask for a bunny cage,that should be plenty big enough.we made ours an enclosure with the top of a childfs sandbox,and a small "pet corral fence around it,but most people dont want such a large pen in their room!keep him as warm as possible in winter.his wheel should be solid plastic,not mesh.their feet are very vulnerable to gangrene and infection.inspect the feet daily -one of ours died when apparently it was running free for excercise in the living room,some fibers got caught around his feet and we didnt notice.by the next night,he had gangrene and had to be put down,i still feel guilty at the time,we didnt know to inspect the hedgehogs feet daily.a chinchilla or guinea pig cage should be good as well.thanx for adopting the little guy !dont listen to first answerer,who obviously didnt read it enough to notice u took in a stray,its not like u got him on a whim and failed to study beforehand.u are good to adopt him,and ur doing the right thing by asking for info-good luck!type in "hedgehogs"-lots of good websites.

It says that hedgehogs are excellent climbers. It says a 20 gallon aquarium is ideal with a top on it. From what I have seen there is alot intailed about taking care of pet hedgehogs. Hedgehogcentral.com had alot of imformative stuff about vet care, bedding, food and cages and other stuff. Might be worth a read if you want to keep the little cutie.
