  1. Go for Healthy Pets online. Cheaper than PetPlan and pay out quickly. Gold cover will cover you for everything. I have two dogs and have been with them for two years and I have had to claim twice and they have been great. Hope this helps.

  2. Pet Plan - def the best. vets dont recommend them for nothing. Stay away from tesco pet insurance, i have heard some horror stories about that one. I did the same as you - had pet insurance and cancelled it, One of my dogs became seriously ill and it cost me £750 - I had to take a loan out!. I would never cancell my insurance because you just never know.

  3. Go for Pet Plan,  no question about it.  They are the only insurer who will pay for treatment for the life of your pet. The others put a 12 month limit on payment, after which, you have to pay for it all yourself again.

With Pet Plan you also get a 'Multi-pet' discount when you insure two pets or more.

I've been with them for about ten years, and they've served my pets extremely well.

    ADDITIONAL POINT

Once insured, don't cancel, then try to insure again later.  Any conditions previously on your pet's record are excluded from cover, so once you've got insurance, keep it going, you will find it worth while.

One of my dogs has a long term skin condition. For years I've paid for insurance cover - about £22.00 per month, and never claimed.  Then, a couple of years ago this condition started, and now Pet Plan are paying as much as £180.00 per month for the treatment. In essence all those years of not claiming are paying off now in my dog's later life!

  4. My puppy is insured with tesco, and they seem to be really good. My vet said that direct line aren't very good because there a bit difficult to get to pay out.
