Question:

Pet peeves about bicyclists?

Do you have any? I do. I think that if bicyclists want me to share the road with them that they should have to obey the road signs/rules of the road. This means that stop signs are not optional and if there is a bike lane, that is where you should ride, not on the sidewalk (unless you have training wheels on your bike, then you can ride on the sidewalk).

  1. I agree with all your pet peeves.  Also, you should know that bicyclists ride on the SAME SIDE OF THE ROAD as vehicle traffic, not AGAINST THE TRAFFIC where they are liable to get killed if they meet an oncoming vehicle.

And cyclists: Have some courtesy!! Move over to the side and let me pass by in my big gas-guzzling SUV!

  2. You've got one of my pet peeves.

Another is when they ride side-by-side, especially on narrow mountain roads, taking up more space than necessary.

  3. They can be a nuisance sometimes, when i drive into the City of London.

  4. If you see people riding on a sidewalk they are breaking the law and CAN get a ticket.

A bicyclist is required to follow the same rules as a driver while on the road.

As a cyclist, I have to agree with you that your points are valid, and I hate them too.

Course, I cant begin to tell you my complaints about drivers who roll through stop signs, dont look for cyclists or pedestrians when driving, break the speed laws, break so many other laws.....

  5. They are extraordinarily belligerent. They ignore stop signs, they ride in front of or otherwise interfere with motor vehicle traffic, they ride where they are not supposed to, and they generally aggravate drivers, then when they get killed I'm supposed to feel sorry for them. I don't.
