Pet rat or chinchilla?

which ones are better pets? which ones smell the least? which ones are easier to take care of?

  1. I would definately get a chinchilla.  They are much cuter and fun to watch.  They don't smell like a guinea pig or a rabbit.  They have very fun things at the pet stores you cam get them to play with for their cages.  

    They are not very hard to take care of.  You just need to get them a little bath box (they have them at the pet store).  I don't think a rat would be that hard to care for either though.  I just like the little furry types my self:)  Good luck in your decision, and have fun getting all the stuff for your new pet!

  3. A pet rat would be easier to take care of. Chinchillas take a lot of time, effort, and money. Neither of them really smell as long as you keep the cage clean. But it depends on what you're looking for. Chinchillas live 10-20 years. Rats live 2-4 years. Chinchillas and rats are both nocturnal. Chinchillas don't like to be held or petted, while rats are very playful and wouldn't mind it at all.
