Can two different breeds of rats share the same cage?

  1. I wouldn't recommend it, as I've seen two different breeds of rat in the same cage fight. My friend also has that, but they do not fight. I would call up a pet store and find out the compatibility of two different breeds.

    I think it is two certain kind of breeds can live together, and some can't. You should find out before you do it, or you could end up with some dead rats!


  2. A rat is a rat, as a human is a human, we just have different skin color, or different personalities, but we are capable of being together, it would be no different than keeping a dashound and a greatdane together

  3. Yep, rats are all the same breed. They just come in different variations, like dumbo, hairless, etc. They're all still rats, though. :]

    Although, if the rats don't know each other already, you still need to introduce them properly.

  4. Courtney is right. Rats are rats, they are all the same breed with different color and hair type variations. They will all get along just fine...in theory. ^_^
