Pet rat with myco, How do I get rid of it?

Hi everyone,

I just adopted two fancy rats from a pet store, and like most store-bought rats, they both have a mycoplasma infection. Is there any way to get rid of it? I know that it's usually symptomless, but if they get stressed they could get very sick. Please help.

o__O Let me just point out the fact that you bought two store-ratties and you didn't prepare to take it to a vet?

You could try calling your local vets and ask what treatment options there are available..

All rats unless born in a lab have Myco. Most do just fine and never have a symptom. There is no way to get rid of it and there are treatments that help but never cure it.
