i went to the petstore today, it was petsupermarket in oviedo, fl.

the poor ferret there had a bursted open/opened cut "belly button".

i asked my mom if i can have him and take him to the vet for recovery and she said no, so if there anyway i can get somebody to adopted the poor thing, most people won't want a injured ferret. andy ideas what i should do?

  1. The PetSuperMarket where I live [Asheville, NC] sold ferrets and I was in there one day and a little girl about age 4 picked up one of the ferrets by the tail and slung it and snapped his tail in four places.  After seeing this happen I took him home and rehabilitated him and eventually found a great home for him.  You should try to go back and speak with the manager and tell them because they can get in alot of trouble for leaving an animal with an open wound in the cage without seeking medical attention.  I would advise you to not buy an animal from PetSuperMarket.  My fiance used to work at the one in Asheville and there were so many sick and injured animals that came in and eventually died while he was there.

  2. See if you can find a small animal rescue in your area and shoot them an email. They may know what to do and may have some more resources. The volunteers may be willing to pitch in and get it out if it really is in need of medical attention.

  3. If you are sure of the cut and no medical attention, I personally would report it to SPCA that is considered cruelty. FIrst I would tell them about it and give them a chance to get medical attention for the fuzzy. Then if nothing is done I'd report the cruelty.

  4. that sounds weird are you sure it wasn't a p***s?

why is saying the word p***s rude I think saying something slang term would be rude but p***s is the scientific term

Wait a minute so the ferret isn't even yours? Don't worry about it then it will be taken care of

  5. Maybe call up a vet or something like the humane soicety about it....

If the store isnt caring for the poor thing that is total animal abuse, maybe a friend might be interested in adopting it or someone else in your family.

I'm sure you would be able to find someone who would want to care about the poor thing, I really hope he is okay but I'm glad you took charge. :D

    Good luck
